This is the result of a demolition and reconstruction of an
old farmhouse.
The job was given to the architect Barbero only after the
structure was realized. As a matter of fact this is a project
for interior design and finishes. The aim of the project was
to re-establish the formal simplicity, typical of farmhouses,
but the use of materials for the achievement of this purpose
is innovative. Wood, iron, glass and stone, all traditional
materials, assume a sober and contemporaneous elegance thanks
to clean and essential lines. The stair is the central element,
steps are made of teak essence and they are directly sticking
out towards the void, without any other hold apart from the
wall, from which they come out. The alternation of full and
empty volumes, emphasized by glass used also as floor, the
reduction of design lines, the great attention paid to lighting
in order to create areas of shadow and light, originate an
essential but comfortable ambience where the emotion of the
“country house” is fully regained. External entrances
must really be seen!!!
